Pemberdayaan Masyarakat melalui Teknologi Tepat Guna Pengolahan Limbah Jagung menjadi Tepung Fermentasi dan Teh Herbal di Desa Bontonompo, Jeneponto

Limbah pertanian jagung di Indonesia masih belum dimanfaatkan secara optimal. Di Desa Bontonompo, Kabupaten Jeneponto, limbah tongkol dan rambut jagung umumnya dibakar atau dibuang, menyebabkan masalah lingkungan dan kehilangan nilai ekonomi. Program pengabdian ini bertujuan memberdayakan masyarakat melalui penerapan teknologi tepat guna untuk mengolah limbah jagung menjadi produk bernilai tambah. Metode yang digunakan adalah Participatory Action Research (PAR) yang melibatkan 15 anggota kelompok tani dan PKK. Data kuantitatif dianalisis dengan uji paired t-test, data kualitatif dengan analisis tematik. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pada pengetahuan (dari 45,33 menjadi 82,00; p<0,001), sikap (62,67→85,33; p<0,001), dan praktik (54,67→80,00; p<0,001). Tepung fermentasi mengandung protein 12,10% dan serat kasar 7,30%; teh herbal rambut jagung memiliki zona hambat terhadap Streptococcus mutans sebesar 12,5 mm. Pendapatan masyarakat meningkat 40% dan volume limbah terolah mencapai 140 kg/minggu (tongkol) serta 25 kg/minggu (rambut jagung). Program ini berhasil memberdayakan masyarakat sekaligus berkontribusi pada kesehatan gigi dan keberlanjutan lingkungan.
